Contribute
We keep our admissions price very low to encourage more visitors to experience our exhibits and learn about our mission and history. However, admissions income does not cover our increasing costs to operate. Please consider one of the following opportunities for investment in the Museum’s future or join us and become a member:
2007 Matching Challenge
This year, two members offered us a $30,000 matching challenge. This means that for every $1.00 donated, we will receive $2.00! Donations toward our 2007 Matching Challenge may be made online or by sending a check to our office.
Nantucket’s First Tea Party
At the end of a busy summer, isn’t it nice to sit down with a quiet cup of tea? Every fall, we send each member or friend of the Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum a special tea bag and invite you to enjoy a cup of tea compliments of the Museum while you consider supporting our efforts in the coming year. The funds raised annually by our Tea Party mailing provide much needed cash during our slower winter months.
Honoring and Memory Gifts
A way to support the mission of the Museum is to recognize birthdays, anniversaries, or other memorable occasions by donating cash, securities or baskets in honor of someone special. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers are a meaningful way to honor a loved one. Please contact our office for details.
Quarterboards
Antique ivory quarterboards with the scrimshawed name of a loved one (or yourself) are placed on permanent display in our Ivory Circle and Lightship Circle for contributions of $10,000 and $25,000 respectively. Please consider membership at this level.
