May 29 2:00 "Woodworking in Basketry" with Nantucket basket maker Tim Parsons, working on his mini-lathe.
June 5 2:00 "Historical Garden Tour and Tea" to learn about some of the plants available in the 1800's.
June 12 2:00 "Scrimshaw from the Heart" with Dorothy V. O'Hara, whose love of the Island is demonstrated in all her designs.

June 19 10:00 - 2:00 "Painting in the Garden" along with other artists, in our historical rose garden. Bring your easel and paints for the opportunity of a lifetime! No charge, but please reserve space by contacting the office.
June 25 1:00 - 4:00 "Rubber Stamp Note Cards Workshop" with Laurie Collins. Create notecards using lightship basket rubber stamps. Become a bona fide rubber stamp artist in just a few hours. $50 covers tuition and materials. Space is limited.
June 26 2:00 "Creating Photo and Mirror Frames in the Nantucket Style" with Ritch Leone. Watch as this talented and well-known Nantucket weaver applies Nantucket Style Basketry to more contemporary forms such as mirrors and photo frames. Ritch uses creative methods based on traditional techniques and his program provides an opportunity to think outside the more familiar basket designs.

July 1 "Small Toy Donation Day." Bring two small, new toys for free admission to our exhibit. All toys will be donated to Nantucket's "A Safe Place."
July 2 "Can-It Day." Donate 3 unopened cans of food for a free admission. All food will be donated to the Nantucket Food Pantry.
July 3 "Inkjet Cartridges & Cell Phones Day." Donate your used cartridges or cell phones for free admission. These two environmentally hazardous items will be recycled, thanks to the Nantucket Garden Club.
July 3 2:00 "Sheep Commons and the Landscape of Nantucket in 1900" with Karen Beattie of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation. Ms Beattie describes the landscape of the Island in 1900 including the area historically referred to as Sheep Commons.
July 10 2:00 Ice Cream Social. Bring the kids as NLBM celebrates our ninth season with ice cream, games, crafts, and fun, fun, FUN!
July 17 2:00 David Lazarus "Creating the Panbone." Nantucket's own "Renaissance Man" shares the intriguing story of the inspiration and creation of The Panbone, a momentious example of his scrimshaw. The Panbone is currently on long-term loan to the Museum.
July 20 1:00 - 4:00 "Baskets & Bubbly" Silent Auction and Preview. This is your opportunity to make a silent bid, take advantage of Buy It Now" options on silent auction items, or just have a sneak peek before the big day!
July 21 - 21 10:00 - 4:00 "Baskets & Bubbly" Silent Auction and Preview continues.
July 26 "Baskets & Bubbly" Champagne Brunch and Auction. Fabulous lightship baskets, basket related items, and many silent and live auction items will be available at our third annual auction. This is our major fundraiser of the year, and a morning of great fun, delicious food, and the enthusiastic auctioneering of Rafael Osona. All seats reserved. Tickets $135pp. Call the Museum for more information and to reserve your space.
July 31 2:00 "Climate Change and Its Affect on Nantucket" with Dr. Sarah Oktay. What might the climate be on Nantucket 50 years from now? 100 years from now? Dr. Oktay of the UMass Boston Nantucket Field Station shares her abundant knowledge on a topic of special concern for everyone who is in love with the Island of Nantucket.
In
addition to our scheduled events and classes, demonstrations of
weaving are available daily.
